Sedona: A Sanctuary of Solace Amidst the Pandemic

Let's rewind to 2020, a year that felt like a never-ending roller coaster ride. Amidst the chaos, Bruno and I, living in Atlanta, decided to pack our bags and head to a place where we could briefly escape the frenzy: Sedona, Arizona. While I'd had the privilege of experiencing Sedona's magic before, this was Bruno's maiden voyage.

Sedona, with its enchanting red rock formations and serene landscapes, was an antidote to the stress and uncertainty that had become synonymous with the year. For us, the hiking trails served as sanctuaries, where we could lose ourselves in nature's spectacle.

Of the many trails we explored, the Devil's Bridge Trail left a significant mark. The hike, though moderately challenging, led us to the largest natural sandstone arch in Sedona - a sight that makes you appreciate nature's artistic prowess.

The Cathedral Rock Trail, though more demanding, presented us with panoramic views that made every strenuous step worth it. There's something about reaching the summit and taking in the expansive views that sets your mind at ease.

We also navigated the Boynton Canyon Trail, a soothing journey that led us to one of Sedona's vortex sites. The tranquility experienced there offered us a respite from the year's turbulence.

Despite the thrill of our adventure, we were ever cognizant of the pandemic's reality. Our exploration adhered to all safety measures, ensuring our getaway was responsible.

Looking back, that Sedona trip was more than a retreat—it was a timely reminder of the world's enduring beauty amidst chaos, and it reinforced our love for exploration. If Sedona is on your radar, or you're in search of a place that offers both adventure and tranquility, I cannot recommend it enough.
